Relational Database Design

The quantity of T.O. 00-25-107 (referred to as 107) Technical Assistance Requests is increasing each year. In addition, since 107 requests can be divided into two categories, Engineering Technical Assistance Request (ETAR) and 107 requests, has caused this trend to increase sharply. This is generating a concern within the F-15 community. The ability of the F-15 Engineering Division to manage the 107/ETAR would be greatly enhanced by a computerized system that stores, tracks, evaluate trends, perform reliability and maintainability analysis, and communication on the processing of field technical assistance requests.
 
The resulting F-15 Technical Assistance Database System (TADS) is a real-time web distributed advanced relational database application designed, developed and maintained by LOT Software Engineering Consultants for the US Air Force. The Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), Staged Representation, Level 3 was achieved during the development of TADS. TADS enable the F-15 System Program Office (SPO) personnel to accomplish their tasks in a more timely manner by providing the following functions:

  • Efficient handling of new 107/ETAR
  • Provide consistent accurate 107/ETAR status updates
  • Provide understanding, rapid assimilation and dissemination of data
  • Provide search capabilities of historical 107/ETAR
  • Provide trends analysis
  • Develop corrective methods for trouble areas
  • Take appropriate action to prevent potential problems
  • Manage the assigned system to ensure aircraft availability remains high

 
TADS web distributed relational database system providing a workflow to process and manage 107/ETAR data in a real-time environment, reducing the need for legacy communications such as emails, time-consuming telephone calls, paper files and faxes. Additionally, TADS improves the processing time for the 107/ETAR Request for Technical Assistance. As a result, it promotes efficiency, real-time access to the 107/ETAR work status and aircraft available remains high.
